308 merged pull requests in other people's code

Client code is private, so a buyer cannot read it. Merged pull requests in public repositories show how I read an unfamiliar codebase, reproduce a bug and get a small fix through a strict review.

The problem

A buyer has to judge an engineer before the first week. Private client code cannot be shown, and a profile says little about how someone works.

What I built

Picked open issues in active projects, reproduced each one on the main branch and wrote the reproduction into the pull request.

Kept every change small and in the project's own style, with a regression test where the project has a test suite.

Answered review comments in the same pull request until the maintainer merged it.

Went deep in one ecosystem where it helped. In Appium I fixed bugs in 8 repositories, from the core server to the Android, iOS and Windows drivers.

How the work ran

All of it is public and written. Each pull request holds the reproduction, the fix, the tests and the review.

Result

308 merged pull requests in 207 repositories I do not own.

102 GitHub organizations merged my work, and 244 of the pull requests merged in the last 90 days.

Google merged my chrome.commands API sample into its official Chrome extension samples, a repository with 17,818 stars.

Strapi merged my fix for 68 admin strings that had lost their ICU arguments. Its QA formatted all 68 with no errors.
